Air Conditioner Repairs

Often times it’s not your air conditioner unit that requires repair, it’s usually your furnace. Give us a call and outline the issues you are having we will get a tech on site as soon as we can to get your house cooling down again.

Maintaining Your Air Conditioner

You will save money and energy if you maintain your air-conditioner (AC). Your AC unit needs regular attention to ensure its operating at the highest efficiency. Before doing any work to your AC unit you must shut off the power. You can shut the main power off at your breaker panel. It should be labelled ‘AC’. Remove any debris on the exterior of your unit, also take the top cage off using a screwdriver or wrench. Once the top is off it will allow you to gain access to clean the fins, with a strong garden hose just spray all around the inside of your unit to blast out any dirt build up. Never use a pressure washer, since the pressure can damage the fins. If your fins are very dirty, then you will need a commercial cleaning product, or you can call us to get that dirt out! 613-510-1350. Once you are finished cleaning your unit put the top cage back on. Clean around your unit, rake leaves and debris outside the condenser and cut back branches and tall grass at least 2 feet in all directions to ensure proper airflow around the unit.

Your furnace is also working hard to ensure nice cold air flows all summer long, change your furnace filters every 3 months and call us to have your annual tune-up completed. Once summer is over be sure to cover the top of your air conditioner. As well, turn off the main breaker to your A/C unit.
